Guidelines for Homeopathic treatment:
- Remedies should be taken ½ hour before or after food/drinks/smoking
- Strong-smelling substances like onion, garlic, toothpaste, mint, eucalyptus (in some lozenges) etc. may reduce the action of these remedies. If you have used these, wait for ½ hour, rinse your mouth and then take the remedy.
- Do not touch the pills by hand, to avoid contamination. Tip the pills into the cap of the bottle, put these into your mouth quickly and suck on them till dissolved.
- Do not drink water after taking the pills.
- Do not consume any pills that have fallen out or become discoloured.
- Do not stop your conventional (allopathic) or other medication without professional advice.
Storage of Homeopathic Remedies:
- Ensure that you keep all remedy bottles tightly closed to avoid evaporation
- Do not refrigerate the remedies
- Store the remedies in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, away from magnets, electro-magnetic fields, electrical appliances (e.g. near clock radios and alarm clocks, on top of refrigerators, near computers or monitors, handphones, etc).
- Store the remedies away from strong-smelling substances such as perfumes, spices, aroma oils, potpourris, naphthalene (moth) balls, Tiger Balm, Axe Oil, Liniments, etc.
- Store the remedies away from reach of small children.
Caution:
After taking the remedy, if you did not see any improvement after 3-4 doses, it is likely that you have not chosen the correct remedy or there may a deeper/more serious problem that needs to be treated. Please stop the remedy and consult with a qualified homeopath or other healthcare provider near you.
After taking the remedy, some people experience a slight worsening of EXISTING symptoms, which is like a healing reaction. This could last from a few hours to a few days. If you have such an aggravation and if it persists, stop the remedy completely, drink some black coffee (an antidote to homeopathic remedies) and consult with a qualified homeopath or other healthcare provider near you.
Although homeopathic remedies are safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women and diabetics, please check with a qualified homeopath or healthcare provider near you, before using these remedies.

If you’ve read my earlier posts (Homeopathy Basics) you would know that Homeopathy is a 200 year old holistic healthcare system that is highly effective, safe and natural, used by millions of people all over the world.
Many common minor illnesses are well suited to be treated at home with Homeopathic remedies. It is a system you can use at home for a fraction of the cost of conventional / allopathic approaches.
In Homeopathy, every case is individualized. Therefore, 5 patients with the same problem may be given 5 different remedies because of symptoms or other factors that are different in each case.
When you are treating yourself at home, try to find the remedy that best fits (or most closely matches) your symptoms from the list of remedies we recommend.
Once you have identified that remedy, purchase it in 30c (or 30CH) potency in 30 or 40 size lactose pills (pellets) from a reliable Homeopathic Store near you or from an online store. A list of our recommended online stores will soon be available at www.AllswellHomeo.com/online.html.
Homeopathic dosage and frequency of dosage varies based on your age, how severe your problem is and in what potency you are taking the remedy. Assuming you bought the remedy in 30c potency, you can use the following guidelines (or refer to the manufacturer’s directions).
Size of oral dosage:
Adults & children above 12 years of age – 4 pills
Children under 12 years of age – 2 pills
Infants, babies, toddlers – 1 pill – it can be dissolved in 1/4 cup of water to prevent choking.
Frequency of dosage:
For Very acute condition: Every 15 or 30 minutes, up to 4 doses. Then reduce to 4 doses a day until you feel well again. Then stop.
For Acute condition: 4 doses per day (up to 2 weeks), until you feel well again. Then stop.
For chronic condition: We do not recommend that you treat chronic conditions at home. It is best to consult with a qualified homeopath. You can also consult us online from the comfort of your own home.

Hello everyone
Allow me to apologize to you, my dear readers, for the extremely long delay since my last post. I had been meaning to get back to writing but got tied up with a whole host of other things.
One of the things I have been working on is developing a live workshop and a home-study course on ”Managing Stress and Mastering Emotions with Flower Remedies”. It has been an exciting experience for me to do this. I am now working on putting it on the web soon. More about that later.
Another project I have been working on is developing a system of doing client consultations via the internet (online consultation) for those who cannot come to my clinic or those who live in other countries and would like to consult with me from the privacy and comfort of their own homes. This facility will soon be available. Please check it out when it becomes available.
I will resume writing on specific health issues women face and how they can use Homeopathic remedies at home to help themselves. Obviously, only some conditions are suited for self-treatment at home, and others will require professional diagnosis, advice and treatment. I will highlight these as we go along.
As a first step, please see my next post on “How to Use Homeopathic Remedies at Home” in which I give guidelines and detailed advice.
As always, I would love to receive your feedback and comments. Please leave a comment, a compliment (or constructive criticism !!). No spamming, please.
Yours in health.

We tend to be ignorant to the infinite intelligence of our bodies. If we get a paper cut we expect it to heal, yet when we have a headache we pop a pill and think nothing more of it. How many times have you ever thought, hmm… I wonder why I have this headache? Could it be caused by my current beliefs and circumstances?
Some of the greatest healers and plenty of modern scientists have proven that our physical symptoms are in fact causes by our thought, beliefs and the circumstances we have created. Today it has become an accepted fact that stress is the main cause of many serious diseases.
If we are able to stop our random functioning and turn inwards when our body calls out a warning, perhaps we can begin to resolve the very issues that cause so much physical and emotional discomfort in our lives. Something as simple as asking our selves for the reason for our discomfort can lead us to profound breakthroughs. The mind will always respond to a question with an answer. If you don’t believe me, give it a try. It is the natural instinct of the mind.
When you find yourself in conflict, whether it is brought to your attention via a physical issue or an emotional/internal conflict, ask yourself, “What is my body trying to tell me?” or “What can I learn from this?” Any question which is stated in a manner to produce a positive, life enhancing response will benefit you.
Once a life lesson is brought to the surface for realization and acceptance, it will instantly resolve itself. Often times, physical issues present for years will spontaneously heal.
When you learn to listen to your body and use the power of your mind, you empower yourself to heal. These same techniques can be used to create a more harmonious and fulfilling life. People who are naturally more intuitive may think this is obvious, however, millions of people are completely blind to the power of their own mind and body.
Everyone one of us has the amazing potential to live a healthy, happy and abundant life. It begins with awakening to our most subtle instincts. Unfortunately our society has lead us to believe we are at the mercy of medical doctors and synthetic medications. It is our choice whether or not we will go within and relearn our true nature.

In defence of homeopathy
Jeanette Winterson
Tuesday November 13, 2007
The Guardian
Picture this. I am staying in a remote cottage in Cornwall without a car. I have a temperature of 102, spots on my throat, delirium, and a book to finish writing. My desperate publisher suggests I call Hilary Fairclough, a homeopath who has practices in London and Penzance. She sends round a remedy called Lachesis, made from snake venom. Four hours later I have no symptoms whatsoever.
Dramatic stuff, and enough to convince me that while it might use snake venom, homeopathy is no snake oil designed for gullible hypochrondriacs. Right now, though, a fierce debate is raging between those, like me, who trust homeopathy because it works for them, and those who call it shamanistic claptrap, without clinical proof or any scientific base.
There have been a number of articles in the press recently criticising homeopathic remedies as worthless at best, and potentially lethal at worst, if they are being taken instead of tried-and-tested conventional medicines for conditions such as malaria or HIV.
I have found myself cited, and drawn into this, because I am on record as supporting homeopathic practice in general, and in particular the Maun homeopathy project, a clinic in Botswana set up by Fairclough.
The organisation Sense About Science and journalists such as Ben Goldacre and Nick Cohen are targeting a symposium in London in December that will discuss HIV and Aids and the homeopathic response to such diseases. Of particular concern is a claim by the British homeopath Peter Chapel and his Dutch colleague, Harry Van Der Zee, that Chapel has developed a remedy, PC1, that can be used to treat the HIV virus.

Homeopathy and Weight Loss: The Emotional Connection
By John C Cassone, MS, CNC
“Just eat less.”
The elements of weight loss are so simple that it becomes obvious that there is much more to the issue of weight gain than just the calorie. I have researched and experimented with hundreds of diets during the last sixteen years with clients of all shapes and sizes. I know what works. But, knowledge is not the problem. All the trendy diets are really just various strategies to get you to eat less. In other words, the diets themselves offer nothing new. Nutritionists create lengthy explanations of their approaches just to get you to believe in their new idea long enough for you to begin their program of eating less. If you believe in it, and you start to eat less, then you will lose weight. But generally, at some point, you will start to eat more again and gain weight back. So what’s the real problem? Why can’t we eat less?
Most people are aware that there is a significant emotional component to over eating (let’s define overeating as eating beyond our actual physiological need). The discomfort of this emotional state seems to be proportionate to the need to eat. In other words, the overeating is the compensation or the survival mechanism for dealing with the emotional state. Permanent lifestyle changes will not last unless the state that the person is compensating for has been reduced. In the brain, the neuro-chemistry of compulsive overeating looks very similar to drug addiction. Unfortunately this compulsion to overeat can be extremely damaging and self destructive leading to all kinds of modern day illnesses like diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and obesity. So do you go to a shrink, a nutritionist, or a 12-step meeting?
Treat the whole person. Homeopathy is a complete system of complementary medicine that has treated hundreds of millions of people world wide for over 200 years. It goes beyond traditional medicine and treats the entire person. A skilled homeopath will study physical pathology as well as mental and emotional patterns and sensitivities. The initial appointment usually takes up to 2 hours. By taking the total organism into account, a complete picture can be observed. On this level, treatment can be profound and lasting. Because homeopathy takes into account mental and emotional states, it is uniquely successful at treating anxiety, depression, and other mental or emotional states. Homeopathic remedies are made from highly dilute natural substances that trigger a massive healing response (almost like a vaccination). When you are taking a well prescribed homeopathic remedy, you will begin to feel a sense of wellness in all areas; it has a global response. Once the disease state begins to decrease, it becomes easier and more likely to stick to a basic weight loss strategy long term.
The conclusion that I am making is that excess weight gain is actually a disease state. It is not just physical, not just mental, and not just emotional. It is the sum total of an unhealthy pattern of disease effecting every area and resulting in the symptom of excess fat deposit. Effective long term treatment must address the whole person in addition to providing basic lifestyle programming, direction, and accountability.

Hi
Have you ever noticed that when you are very stressed, you breathe very shallow or sometimes even hold your breath without realising it?
One of the quickest ways to relieve stress anytime anywhere is to take a few deep breaths. Deep breathing with awareness instantly calms you down, besides supplying your brain and body with oxygen thus enabling you to think better and perform better in the stressful situation.
Here is a video that shows how you can use yoga-based deep breathing techniques for quick and easy stress relief. Enjoy……..
Make it a point to breathe deeply today, and every day.
