I was recently asked a question - “How relevant is Homeopathy in modern times - after all it is a 200 year old system that has not undergone much change, nor undergoing “scientific” research like conventional medicine?  Other natural therapies like Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda are undergoing “modernisation” and offer capsules instead of decoctions, etc, whereas Homeopathy has not changed all that much over the centuries - how useful can be it to the 21st century?”

A valid question.  Here is my answer………

Homeopathy is extremely relevant today, perhaps more than it was 2 centuries ago. Not only that – it is an ideal vehicle for regaining and maintaining health in the 21st century, for the following reasons:

  • People today live with high levels of stress, emotional suppression, environmental pollution, sedentary lifestyles, poor diets and several other factors of modern life that constantly bombard the human organism on all levels – physical, mental, emotional.  With its holistic approach of treating the person on all levels at the same time, and with one single remedy for all her problems, Homeopathy is primed to tackle the health issues of the modern world.

  •  Homeopathy is truly a 21st century medicine because instead of trying to find more viruses to kill, it focuses on strengthening the whole person so that his own defense mechanism is able to deal with any “virus” that attacks him.
  • Homeopathy works on the basis of a true partnership between the homeopath and the patient. The focus is always on what the patient feels as a whole, not on just his diseases. Thus, it is a truly empowering medicinal system.  (more…)
